The following entry is dedicated to 1AA5-AC Games-Captain's Ball. =) :

Well, after playing more than 1 hours worth of collective Captain's ball, I'm pleased and honoured to mention that 1AA5 managed to attain a very respectable Semi-Finalist position. To top that up, we were the only Arts class to get it to the last 4. So yea, good job AA5. =)

We played our first game at a frantic pace. You could see that we were actually more of playing for the sake of playing. But as the game went on, the team started to really play like a team, making shots after shots, blocks after blocks, passes after passes. We managed to win our first game rather comfortably. Our class cheer before the game really made us feel like a team, and more importantly, as a class.

The next game was no different, with us playing at a rather comfortable level. It was only the second qualifying round but we were already playing as a team, as if we've been playing together for years. Managed to win by another comfortable margin.

Then came the hardest match we had ever played. It was a very tough game, with us starting to panic after going down 4-1 in the opening minutes. Never in the previous 2 games have we trailed and it really affected us. However, with every pass and every cheer and every shot, we slowly climbed our way back, with a lil luck of course. We managed to play all the way to 8-6, with us leading in the final 1 minute. Much as we wanted to slow down the pace of the game, we lost our focus instead, and allowed the other team to score 2 quick points, taking the game into sudden death. From then on, it was a matter of which team wanted it more. You could see it in the players' eyes. We all wanted win the championship. And we did. Kawai's last catch sealed the game for us and we won. We managed to get into the semi-finals.

The game tired many of us out. But we were happy. Happy that we managed to turn the game around and win it at the end. The semi-finals was a tougher game. Bodies were bruised and tired legs were kept going by the sheer will and determination to win. The whistle was blown. We lost. We were all rather sad after the match. The post-match cheer was indeed very refreshing and very emotional. We were glad to see other Arts classes cheering on our class and even wanting us to do Arts proud. Afterall, we were the only Arts class in the last 4. That alone, is a great achievement.

Although we lost the game, I feel that we've actually gained much more than sheer bruises and injuries. We gained intelliegence and friendship. As we barked and shouted during the game, we actually bonded with one another. Never again will I be able to experience such emotions even though I've lost a game. Yes. That's the spirit. The AA5 spirit. Much as people look down on us being AA5, we've actually gained the respect of many people, or at least it seems so. I'm not sure. I'm only certain that we've gained more than what we've lost.

So yea, here's to, in no order of merit:
Jerome, for leading us in the game and being our runner.
Kawai, for being our ever reliable catcher with excellent balance.
Chris, for being our ever steady wall. =P
Shu Wei, for being our female sharpshooter.
Rose, for being our positive woman who never stopped trying.
Amanda, for being our passer and baller stealer.
Jith, for being our super-sub who scores at the most crucial of times.
Naesh, for being our Speedy Gonzalez.
Ian, for being our heart in the middle of the park.

So there you have it. The wonderful 10 players, including myself, of AA5. Thanks for making my JC1 life ever so interesting. I'll remember this day for sure during my next few months in school. Thanks.

"1-2-3. AA5!!"
